  • Explore the London Wetland Centre with 30 per cent off entry prices when using TfL services from 24 July
  • Two-for-one offers at two National Trust places if travelling with TfL from 24 July
  • Simply download and show your same-day journey to these destinations on the TfL Oyster and Contactless app to redeem

Starting 24 July, Transport for London (TfL) customers can explore the London Wetland Centre for less with 30 per cent off entry prices. They can also take advantage of a special two-for-one offer at two National Trust properties – Ham House and Garden and Osterley Park and House, making these destinations a top pick for nature lovers this summer. Customers can redeem the offers in person at these sites by downloading and using the free TfL Oyster and Contactless app to show they have travelled to the attractions using the TfL network (excluding Santander Cycles) to benefit from the discounts.

With 30 per cent off entry prices at the London Wetland Centre in Barnes by using TfL services, visitors can encounter amazing wildlife – including playful otters – up close. Guests can also explore the outdoor adventure playground where children can take a ride down the zip wire or take a peaceful stroll through the scenic nature reserve. The discounts on offer mean TfL customers can save up to £5.10 for adults and £14.25 on family tickets whilst enjoying a spot of tranquillity in west London.

TfL customers heading to National Trust properties can benefit from two-for-one entry on Ham House and Garden and Osterley Park and House. Situated in Richmond, the historical Ham House and Garden dates back to the 17th century. From the very first snowdrops of the year through to a vibrant summer harvest, the seasons give the garden ever changing colour. The offer also applies to Osterley Park and House, a Georgian country estate with many things to see and do including picturesque lakes and cycle trails and the extraordinary house itself, known as the “palace of palaces”. Osterley Park and House is also a short walk from the Osterley Tube station on the Piccadilly line, making it a great destination for a relaxing day out in London.

Seb Dance, Deputy Mayor for Transport, said: “With summer in full swing, there is no better time to enjoy London’s tranquil gardens and wetlands full of wildlife. I’m delighted TfL has partnered with the London Wetland Centre and the National Trust to offer discounts when Londoners travel to attractions on the TfL network. This is just the latest brilliant partnership between TfL and London’s world-leading museums and attractions, as we work to encourage more people onto public transport and continue building a more prosperous London for everyone. I urge all Londoners to take advantage of these offers this summer.”

Emma Strain, TfL’s Customer Director, said: “We’re really excited to announce our new partnerships with London Wetland Centre and National Trust just in time for summer. Our services remain the best way to travel around London this season, and to top it off, our customers will get to enjoy these wonderful offers as they head to these pockets of nature and serenity within London whilst saving money.”

Ruth Thomas, WWT London Wetland Centre’s Acting General Manager, said: “It’s great to be working in partnership with TfL to offer this discount to anyone using London public transport. Everyone is feeling the pinch at the moment, so 30 per cent off entry to our centre throughout the summer months will hopefully give people a chance to come and visit us and see the wonderful wetlands and wildlife we have here.”

Seb Conway, National Trust's General Manager for Ham House, said: “We know that many of our visitors want to come to our places by means other than car travel and we’re delighted to be working with TfL to support more people in and around London to do this. By taking public transport, or by cycling or walking to our places, collectively we can dramatically reduce both our impact on climate change and our pressure on nature. We look forward to welcoming TfL travellers to Ham House and Osterley Park and House over the next year.”

As part of ongoing partnerships with attractions, learning sites and gardens in the capital, TfL and the Science Museum continue to offer half price entry to Science Fiction: Voyage to the Edge of Imagination and 25 per cent off the price of annual passes to Wonderlab: The Equinor Gallery. To access the offer, customers are advised to pre-book on the Science Museum website using special codes. TfL and Kew Gardens have extended the 30 per cent discount offer available on adult and concession tickets to 31 August.
